Haziz has developed over many years through the dance tuition and talented choreography of Hazel Kayes. Our style of dancing is both authentic and creative. Drawing on dances from Egypt and across the Middle East, our repertoire is colourful and varied. In one of our performances you might see:
  • Classical Egyptian - romantic and feminine
  • Isis wings - the dance of a goddess
  • Tunisian folk - a colourful dance of celebration
  • Egyptian tabla - the rhythm of the drum
  • Middle Eastern pop - upbeat and cheeky
  • Traditional and contemporary veil dances - the delight of rippling silk
  • A Saaidi stick dance from the mountains of Upper Egypt
  • Transylvanian Gypsy - dark and passionate
  • Traditional Egyptian baladi - sensous and emotional, and
  • Mozeina Bedouin dancing from the Sinai desert - mysterious and playful

We are based in Gloucestershire, UK, performing at theatrical shows, private celebrations and charity events in Gloucester, Stroud, Nailsworth, Cirencester and beyond.
